Investigative Nonfiction Writer | Factual Television Producer
I'm Andrew Carolan — a writer and producer with over twenty years' experience shaping long-form stories across television, documentary, and commercial media.
My work sits at the intersection of narrative, evidence, and institutional power. After two decades producing and editing factual content — from documentary and current affairs to branded and corporate storytelling — I'm now focused on long-form investigative nonfiction that examines how systems endure through silence, exposure, and performance.
Writing
I'm currently completing a work of investigative nonfiction exploring power, accountability, and the ways scrutiny is managed rather than avoided.
Television & Film
I've worked across factual television, documentary, and entertainment for broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Discovery, National Geographic, CNN, MTV, Sky, and others. My roles have spanned editing, producing, directing, story producing, and post production — often working end-to-end from development through delivery.
Two decades inside institutions — corporate, broadcast, commercial — taught me how narratives are shaped, constrained, and softened. That experience now informs my writing: less focused on individual actors than on systems, silence, and how transparency can function as performance.
